Intense Pulse Light SystemThe Med Flash™ II incorporates the latest advances in second generation Intense Pulse Light Technology (IPL) for skin rejuvenation, active acne treatment and vascular and pigmented lesions.

The advanced features of the Med Flash™ II combined with the integrated skin cooling system dramatically increase efficacy while decreasing patient discomfort and patient treatment time. These advances and the integrated cooling eliminated the need to apply gels: NO GELS are required.

The Med Flash™ II is one of the most versatile IPL systems available. Fluence values and treatment settings parameters can be customized or pre-programmed using the large high-resolution touch screen display.

      Second Generation Technology
Absorption Spectra of Tissue ChromophoresThe Med Flash™ II is capable of emitting a broad range of light radiation from 390 nm to 1200 nm (infrared) in a single pulse burst depending on the selected filter. The light energy is produced through the handpiece which contains a powerful and reliable Xenon flashlamp. The light is emitted in a non-monochromatic format. The physician selects the specific filter to be used to produce the requisite range of wavelengths as needed for specific treatment applications.
      Applications
      Rejuvenation
Pulsed light therapy at the 590 nm wavelength penetrates deep into the subcutaneous layers stimulating cellular turnover and new collagen. Visible light generates more external tissue layers thus producing high amounts of ROS (Radical Oxygen Singlet) destroying old collagen fibers while encouraging the formation of new ones. At deeper levels of light penetration ROS is still produced thus stimulating fibroblasts proliferation.
      Active Acne
The Med Flash™ II operating in the 390nm to 510nm wavelength range produces the optimal effect for anti-bacterial targeting of acne vulgaris, the bacteria responsible for acne. The effect of the light increases singlet oxygen production and stimulates cytokine mechanisms - the immune-regulatory pathways that pay a significant role in post-treatment healing of inflamed acne skin. The Med Flash™ II's treatment has also been clinically proven to be effective on non-cystic acne.
      Vascular and Pigmented Lesions
Med Flash™ II IPL wavelengths are very suitable for treating pigmented lesions such as age spots. At wavelengths between 530nm and 600 nm oxyhemoglobin is stimulated to absorb higher amounts of energy that cause the collapse of vessels.
